Prof. Achyuta Samanta

A Journey of Compassion
Prof. Achyuta Samanta is an internationally acclaimed educationist, social reformer, and humanitarian. Born into poverty, he overcame immense adversity and with just ₹5000 founded KIIT and KISS in 1992. Today, KIIT is a globally ranked multidisciplinary university and KISS is the world’s largest fully free residential institution for 80,000 indigenous children. He also established KIMS, a 2,600-bed super-specialty hospital, and founded the global movement ‘Art of Giving’. Despite receiving 67+ honorary doctorates and numerous awards, he leads a life of simplicity, devoted entirely to equity, excellence, and empathy in education, healthcare, and social service.

Prof. (Dr.) Saranjit Singh has over 25 years of academic and leadership experience. Under his guidance, KIIT has expanded its global footprint with 250+ international collaborations, dual and joint degree programs, and initiatives such as the Global Immersion Programme 2025. Hosting delegations from Oxford, Harvard, MIT, and more, KIIT has strengthened its global academic visibility. He emphasizes blending India’s traditional knowledge with contemporary education in line with NEP 2020, and advancing KIIT’s mission towards Aatmnirbhar Bharat.

Prof. (Dr.) Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar of KIIT, is a seasoned academician with over 28 years of teaching and administrative experience. Having joined KIIT in 1997, he holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Utkal University. His leadership emphasizes academic integrity, digitalization of processes, and inclusivity. He has played a key role in academic audits, curricular reforms, scholarships, and outreach initiatives supporting students from diverse backgrounds.
